ORLANDO FL. (June 20, 2023) - The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), is currently hosting the 50th AAU Girls' Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, Florida with 5,194 teams in attendance this year.

The world’s largest volleyball tournament, a Guinness World Record set in 2012, is ready for another incredible year. From June 14th - July 4th, more than 100,000 athletes and coaches, representing 48 states, two U.S. territories, and six international countries (Canada, China, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Peru, and Sweden) will converge at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) and ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex for the 50th AAU Girls’ and Boys’ Junior National Volleyball Championships.

Session 1 of the 50th AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships has just wrapped up with a select talent of teams bringing home AAU championship gold. Session 1 began on June 14th and ran until the final championship match on June 17th.

The best of the best 10U through 18U teams from across the United States and internationally have traveled to OCCC and have taken over both the North and South Concourse. Between OCCC and the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex, 162 courts are set up and the action never stops.

Even with all the tournament jitters and excitement, the fun never stopped off the court. Session 1 was made special with the AAU Cares Dig Pink campaign on June 16th. Many teams showed up and showed out with some awesome Dig Pink spirit. Additionally, some great memories were made via the AAUsports TikTok channel. Did you make the cut?

Pool play kicked off the tournament on Wednesday. Friday was one of the staples of the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships with the Dig Pink Campaign. As part of the AAU Cares initiative, AAU is again partnering with the Side-Out Foundation as an official Dig Pink Campaign location, raising awareness and money for breast cancer research. All participants were encouraged to wear pink for AAU’s Dig Pink Day on June 16th. Sessions 3 and 4 will also participate in the campaign on June 24th and 28th.
