RECAP: 2019 ISF World Schools Beach Volleyball Championships

Both Girls 18U and 16U AAU/USA teams came home with Gold at the ISF World Schools Beach Volleyball Championships in San Vito lo Capo, Italy.

SAN VITO LO CAPO, Italy – The United States sent three teams, 18U Girls, 16U Girls and 18U Boys, of AAU members to the 5th edition of the ISF World Schools Beach Volleyball Championships. The teams were one of 18 delegations from four continents, including China, French Polynesia, Netherlands and Slovenia.

From October 3-10, San Vito lo Capo, Italy and the School Sport Federation of Italy hosted a total of 56 teams, 239 participants. Germany and Hungary walked away with the championship in the boys and girls 14U division, respectively. While Brazil boys and the USA girls took the gold medal in both older divisions (16U and 18U).

The 16U duo of Jenna Colligan and Molly Trodd secured their championship title of 2019 ISF World Schools Beach Volleyball Championships after defeating Brazil in straight sets, 2-0.
Maya Harvey and Ava Kirunchyk, the AAU/USA Girls 18U team, also swept Brazil in a 2-0 bout to bring home the gold.

The boys 18U team of AAU members Ian Guss and Michael Shahidi finished ninth in their division.
